Beauty and the Beast Wrap Cover

This is a piece I did under one of my professors as a book cover assignment. A wrap-around cover for Beauty and The Beast, an idea I got after taking a look through the library and finding a version of the tale illustrated by Angela Barrett.
I wanted to really play into the dramatics of my storytelling, vibrant, moody, Gothic romantic, whimsical, and a little tragic in style. I really had a vision for collaging all the story elements elements in a very specific way that I have been quite pleased with by the end. Personally I think my favorite portions is the reflective cat like eyes of the beast, the dress, and how the mirror's detailing alludes to the passage seasons as brought up in the book through the detailing incorporating common nature elements associated with Spring, Autumn, and Winter.
There's also quite a bit that went in to the mood board and planning out the clothing which was incredibly fun for me as someone who loved delving into historical costuming while growing up, and still does now.

SIDE NOTE: however the mood board was never actually officially compiled in the proper format back when I originally created this so I shall be updating that soon on here providing the full board along with a visual outfit breakdown notations for the styling
